Speaking of feet, we need to talk about Tom's Shoes. In 2006 a young guy named Blake Mycoskie had an idea for a shoe company that would give a pair of shoes away for every pair they sold. People told him he was crazy, but in just the first 2 years they gave over 60,000 pairs of shoes away to the children of Argentina and South Africa. Just getting started they have an awesome goal to do 200,000 pairs in 2008. Now, 4 years later, they have given away over 400,000 pairs of shoes. They are really unique and cool and incredibly well made. My son Marcus has 4-5 pair, my daughter Madison has 2-3 pair, and they love them. Most people aren't aware of the huge problem caused by kids having no shoes. Each year thousands around the world get sick and die due to infections, open soars, and other problems due to bare feet.
This incredible movement has benefited from a grass roots movement that has snowballed into a major organization. Once found only in boutique shops, Toms can now be found at many of the world's largest retailers. They have been featured on CBS News and were the subject of a very popular AT&T commercial.
Check out this video then check out their web site. Very cool.
